Bota has partnered with an amazing Canadian textile recycling partner to create a system where your used undergarments are processed or repurposed in the best possible way, depending on the state of the garment. Specifically for underwear, this means turning your old pairs into things like insulation and furniture batting.

Waste is prevalent in every facet of the fashion industry, with an estimated 92 million tons of textile waste generated each year. The majority of this waste ends up in landfills, where it can take up to 200 years to decompose, releasing harmful gases into the atmosphere.

Here’s how it works:

1. Customers can place an order on Bota’s Website for their own Detox Kit. 
2. They will receive a package with everything they need to send in their unwanted underwear, including a recyclable return mailer made from 100% recycled plastics, a 2-strip sample pack of unscented TruEarth eco-friendly, plastic-free, and non-toxic laundry strips, detailed instructions, and a pre-paid return label.
3. Customers then wash their unwanted underwear and place their clean, dry underwear in the recyclable mailer and create a return shipping label via the QR code provided.
4. They can then drop their package off at any Canada Post location.

Right now the Top Drawer Detox Kit is only available in Canada but we hope to expand soon!
